Mavrilimumab
Mavrilimumab (CAM 3001) is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and bind specifically to the α subunit of the granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) receptor. By attaching to this subunit, Mavrilimumab effectively inhibits the downstream intracellular signaling pathways activated by GM-CSF. This interaction is crucial, as GM-CSF is implicated as a potential mediator in the exacerbation of inflammatory responses that can lead to respiratory failure and mortality. This antibody is particularly relevant in research focused on inflammatory diseases and immune response regulation.
