Maxadilan

PAC1-Receptor Agonist

Maxadilan is a specific irreversible agonist of the PAC1 receptor, known for its potent vasodilatory effects. This peptide, derived from the salivary glands of sand flies, exhibits significant anti-apoptotic properties in human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs) and modulates inflammatory responses by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α while enhancing anti-inflammatory mediators like IL-10. Additionally, Maxadilan facilitates leukocyte activation and decreases vascular permeability through PAC1 receptor engagement. It serves as a valuable tool in research related to endotoxin shock, atherosclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases.
