MDL-100240

Angiotensin-converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitor

MDL-100240 is a dual-acting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and neutral endopeptidase (NEP) inhibitor. It exhibits significant antihypertensive effects, lowering blood pressure and reversing left ventricular hypertrophy while preventing aortic hypertrophy and dilatation in resistance arteries. Additionally, MDL-100240 reduces aldosterone levels and enhances bradykinin effects, making it useful in cardiovascular research. In transgenic rat models, it has been shown to diminish adrenomedullin concentrations and mitigate hypertension-induced cardiovascular damage.
