Melibionic acid

GD1b Inhibitor

Melibionic acid is a galactose derivative that acts as an inhibitor of ganglioside GD1b. It has been shown to inhibit heat-labile enterotoxin with an IC50 value of 7 mM, making it a useful tool in studies focused on glycolipid interactions and toxin pathogenesis. Research applications may include investigations of ganglioside involvement in signaling pathways and studies on microbial toxins.
