Meloside A

Antioxidant Agent

Meloside A, a phenylpropanoid derived from barley, functions primarily as an antioxidant agent. It exhibits significant activity by inhibiting cell apoptosis and the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Additionally, Meloside A impedes androgen receptor (AR) nuclear translocation and reduces AR protein expression, alongside decreasing levels of inflammatory markers such as IL-6, TGF-β1, and DKK-1. This compound is valuable for research applications in inflammation and endocrinology, particularly in studies related to hair loss.
