MeOIstPyrd
Anti-Skin Cancer Agent
MeOIstPyrd is an anti-skin cancer agent that primarily targets the mitochondrial intrinsic apoptotic pathway. It effectively inhibits cell proliferation, migration, and spheroid formation while inducing DNA damage. MeOIstPyrd activates p53 and enhances its stability by phosphorylating it at serine 15, increasing its half-life. Additionally, it disrupts the p53-MDM2 interaction by binding to the MDM2 sub-pocket, thereby promoting tumor suppressor activity. This compound is relevant for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.
