Mer-NF5003F

Sesquiterpene

Mer-NF5003F is a sesquiterpene derived from Stachybotrys that primarily targets avian medulloblastoma virus (AMV) protease, exhibiting an IC50 of 7.8 μM. This compound demonstrates significant inhibitory effects on sialyltransferase 6N (ST6N), ST3O, and ST3N, with IC50 values of 0.61, 6.7, and 10 μg/mL, respectively, as well as fucosyltransferase (IC50=11.3 μg/mL). Additionally, Mer-NF5003F displays notable in vitro activity against herpes simplex virus HSV-1 (IC50=4.32 μg/mL) and the multidrug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum K1 strain (IC50=0.85 μg/mL), making it a valuable tool for antiviral and antiparasitic research applications.
