Methyl pyruvate

ATP Supplement/Anti-cancer Agent

Methyl pyruvate is a methyl ester derivative of pyruvic acid that acts as an ATP supplement and anti-cancer agent. It enhances ATP synthesis, which mitigates proteasome damage and influences the nuclear localization of TdP-43. Methyl pyruvate selectively protects normal lung fibroblasts from cell death induced by Irinotecan while promoting apoptotic and necrotic pathways in cancer cells. Additionally, it downregulates angiogenesis and cell cycle progression, making it valuable for research in cancer biology and metabolic studies.
