Metyrapone Tartrate

11β-hydroxylase Inhibitor

Metyrapone Tartrate is a potent inhibitor of 11β-hydroxylase, effectively decreasing endogenous adrenal corticosteroid synthesis and lowering glucocorticoid levels. This compound also serves as an autophagy activator by downregulating the mTOR pathway, enhancing the efficiency of the autophagic process. Metyrapone Tartrate is utilized in research applications related to Cushing's syndrome and depression, providing insights into the regulation of aldosterone production and the modulation of behavior and emotional response.
