Mezilamine

Antidopaminergic Agent

Mezilamine is a potent antidopaminergic agent primarily targeting α-adrenoceptors. It induces a concentration-dependent enhancement of electrically stimulated 3H-noradrenaline overflow in rat cortical slices, while showing no impact on basal overflow levels. Mezilamine functions as a presynaptic α-adrenoceptor antagonist and a postsynaptic α-adrenoceptor agonist, making it a valuable tool for research into neuropharmacology and neurotransmitter modulation.
