Misonidazole

Radiosensitizer

Misonidazole functions as a radiosensitizer primarily targeting hypoxic tumor cells. This compound enhances the effectiveness of radiation therapy by increasing the sensitivity of these cells, thereby promoting cell death in tumor microenvironments. In addition to its role in cancer research, Misonidazole also exhibits antimicrobial properties, making it relevant for investigations beyond oncology.
