Mitiglinide

K(ATP) Channel Antagonist

Mitiglinide is an ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channel antagonist that primarily targets the Kir6.2/SUR1 complex, which is integral to pancreatic beta-cell function. This compound exhibits insulinotropic properties, making it relevant for research into type 2 diabetes management. Mitiglinide’s specificity for KATP channels allows for exploration of its effects on insulin secretion and glucose homeostasis in diabetic models.
