MitoBloCK-1

Inhibitor That Blocks TIM22-mediated Substrate Import

MitoBloCK-1 is a potent inhibitor that targets the TIM22 import pathway by preventing substrate binding to the Tim9/10 complex. This mechanism effectively disrupts the translocation of TIM22 substrates into mitochondria, inhibiting the import of key carrier proteins, including ADP/ATP and phosphate carriers, as well as the outer membrane protein Tom40. MitoBloCK-1 is valuable for research into mitochondrial function and the role of protein import mechanisms in cellular metabolism.
