MK-251

Anti-arrhythmic Agent

MK-251 is an orally active anti-arrhythmic agent that primarily targets cardiac activity to prevent or modify ventricular arrhythmias. It has been shown to antagonize arrhythmias induced by tetrafluorethylbutylamine in animal models, as well as those caused by digoxin in felines. At effective therapeutic doses, MK-251 exhibits minimal impact on fundamental cardiovascular parameters such as blood pressure, cardiac output, myocardial contractility, and ventricular conduction, highlighting its distinct therapeutic profile. This compound is of interest for cardiovascular research and the study of arrhythmias.
