Monoethyl phthalate

PDX-1 Activator

Monoethyl phthalate is an orally active PDX-1 activator with implications in reproductive toxicity research. As the primary hydrolytic metabolite of diethyl phthalate, it targets aromatase (CYP19A1) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR) to promote cell proliferation. Notably, monoethyl phthalate demonstrates significant enterohepatic circulation and is predominantly accumulated in liver tissues, without exhibiting estrogenic activity in estrogen-dependent human breast cancer cells. This compound serves as a valuable tool in studies addressing reproductive toxicity and environmental endocrine disruption mechanisms.
