Myristicin

Monamine Oxidase Inhibitor

Myristicin is a weak monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor with notable serotonin receptor antagonist properties. It demonstrates significant biological activities, including anti-cancer effects against gastric cancer cells by inhibiting the EGFR/ERK signaling pathway. Additionally, myristicin exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and apoptosis-inducing effects, making it valuable for research in cancer therapeutics and neuropharmacology. Care should be taken regarding its potential psychoactive effects and associated risks when misused.
