ROS Scavenger
N,N'-Dimethylthiourea (DMTU) serves as a potent reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger, specifically targeting hydroxyl radicals (•OH). It effectively inhibits •OH production in activated neutrophils in vitro, demonstrating significant antioxidant properties. DMTU has been shown to protect against gastric mucosal lesions induced by water-immersion restraint stress (WIRS) in rodent models, highlighting its potential applications in studying oxidative stress and inflammation.
