N-Nitrosoanatabine
Biochemical Assay Reagent
N-Nitrosoanatabine is a tobacco-specific nitrosamine (TSNA) primarily utilized as a biochemical assay reagent. It is predominantly composed of the (S) enantiomer, which accounts for approximately 80% of the N-NAT present in commercial and research tobacco products. Notably, N-NAT has been shown not to induce carcinogenic effects in rats at doses up to 9 mmol/kg, making it a valuable compound for studying tobacco-related phenomena and assessing nitrosamine exposure in various research contexts.
