N-Sterol
Sterol Lipid
N-Sterol is a sterol lipid that serves as a critical component in the formulation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for mRNA delivery applications both in vitro and in vivo. These N-Sterol-based LNPs demonstrate variable uptake in J774A.1 macrophages, influenced by lipid composition and facilitated through mechanisms such as clathrin-mediated endocytosis, caveolin-mediated endocytosis, micropinocytosis, and phagocytosis, each occurring at differing frequencies. This characteristic makes N-Sterol valuable for research in drug delivery systems and gene therapy.
