NAD-dependent Glucose dehydrogenase

Glucose dehydrogenase

NAD-dependent Glucose dehydrogenase (GDH-NAD) (EC 1.1.1.47) is an NAD-dependent oxidoreductase that facilitates the oxidation of β-D-glucose to β-D-glucono-1,5-lactone, accompanied by the reduction of NADP+ to NADPH or NAD+ to NADH. This enzyme demonstrates versatility by utilizing both NAD+ and NADP+ as cofactors, making it valuable for applications in metabolic studies and regeneration of NADH and NADPH. GDH can be utilized in various biochemical assays and research involving glucose metabolism and energy production pathways.
