Farnesyl Diphosphate Synthase Inhibior
NE21650 is a potent inhibitor of farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) synthase, with a secondary action as a weak inhibitor of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) isomerase. This compound effectively inhibits protein prenylation in osteoclasts and macrophages, leading to a reduction in bone resorption in vitro. NE21650 is a valuable tool for investigating the role of farnesylation in bone metabolism and related diseases.
