Nitroso-PSAP

Fe(II) Color Developing Agent

Nitroso-PSAP is a chromogenic reagent that specifically targets Fe(II) ions. It exhibits high sensitivity for the colorimetric determination of iron in biological samples, such as blood, following mineralization with periodic acid. Upon chelation with Fe(II), Nitroso-PSAP forms a stable green complex with a maximum absorption at 756 nm and a molar absorptivity of 4.5 x 10^4 dm^3 mol^-1 cm^-1. This reagent is essential for quantitative iron analysis in various biochemical research applications.
