NPC26

Small Molecule Mitochondrial Disruptors

NPC26 is a small molecule targeting mitochondrial disruption with notable anti-tumor properties. It demonstrates significant anti-proliferative effects and cytotoxicity in colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines such as HCT-116, DLD-1, and HT-29. NPC26 impairs mitochondrial function by triggering the opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) and increasing reactive oxygen species production, which leads to programmed cell death. Additionally, it activates the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway, further contributing to its anti-cancer efficacy.
