Olsalazine Disodium

Anticancer/Antiinflammation Agent

Olsalazine Disodium is an orally active prodrug of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), primarily targeting anti-inflammatory mechanisms. It demonstrates significant inhibition of cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis, making it useful in cancer research. Additionally, Olsalazine Disodium decreases Disease Activity Index (DAI) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, while downregulating inflammatory cytokine levels. This compound is applicable for studies in inflammation, cancer, and metabolic diseases, particularly in colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
