Opabactin

Abscisic Acid Receptor Agonist

Opabactin is a potent agonist of the abscisic acid (ABA) receptor, exhibiting an IC50 of 7 nM. This compound effectively inhibits seed germination in Arabidopsis with an IC50 of 62 nM, thereby regulating plant water use. Additionally, Opabactin induces anti-transpiration responses in plant tissue, enhancing drought tolerance in crops. These properties make it a valuable reagent for research in plant physiology and stress response mechanisms.
