ACE Inhibitor

P-536 is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that also targets herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) thymidine kinase and Trypanosoma cruzi RNA polymerase. This compound modulates the renin-angiotensin system by downregulating AT1R and NOX4 expression, leading to reduced oxidative stress and decreased systolic blood pressure. Additionally, P-536 impedes HSV-1 replication through inhibition of nucleotide metabolism and nucleic acid synthesis and disrupts Trypanosoma cruzi replication, making it useful for research in hypertension, insulin resistance, and Chagas disease.
