PepO Inhibitor, Rgg2/3 Agonist
P516-0475 is an uncompetitive inhibitor of the endopeptidase PepO, targeting bacterial proteolytic processes. Additionally, it acts as an agonist of the Rgg2/3 system, enhancing the expression of Rgg2/3-regulated genes in the presence of short hydrophobic pheromone (SHP). This dual functionality confers antibacterial properties, contributing to increased lysozyme resistance and offering potential applications in microbiological research and the development of antimicrobial strategies.
