PAC1 Receptor Antagonist
PA-8 is a selective and orally active antagonist of the PACAP type I (PAC1) receptor. This compound effectively inhibits PACAP-induced CREB phosphorylation specifically in PAC1 receptor pathways, while showing no activity against VPAC1 or VPAC2 receptors. Additionally, PA-8 reduces PACAP-induced cAMP elevation with an IC50 of 2 nM, making it a valuable tool for research applications focusing on PAC1 receptor signaling and related biological processes.
