Patulin-13C7

Mycotoxin

Patulin-13C7 is a 13C-labeled derivative of Patulin, a mycotoxin produced by various fungi, including species from the Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Byssochlamys genera. This compound is implicated in clastogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic, and cytotoxic effects. Patulin-13C7 induces autophagy-dependent apoptosis via the lysosomal-mitochondrial axis, leading to significant DNA damage, making it a valuable tool for studying the mechanisms of mycotoxin toxicity and its impact on cellular health.
