Pelargonidin chloride

Antioxidant Agent

Pelargonidin chloride is an anthocyanidin known for its role as an antioxidant agent. It exhibits scavenging activity against nitric oxide radicals and demonstrates cytotoxic effects that induce cell cycle arrest at the sub-G1 phase. Additionally, Pelargonidin chloride enhances the expression of mRNA and proteins associated with oxidative stress response, including HO-1, NQO1, and Nrf2. This compound has also shown potential in improving memory and learning impairments induced by amyloid-beta.
