Pentagalloylglucose

Antioxidant

Pentagalloylglucose is a gallic tannin compound with potent antioxidant properties that plays a critical role in cellular apoptosis and autophagy. It acts through the GSK3β/β-catenin signaling pathway, effectively inhibiting UBE2T-mediated p53 ubiquitination, leading to the upregulation of p53 and downregulation of RRM1/RRM2 in pancreatic cancer organoids. This versatile compound also exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, anticonvulsant, cardioprotective, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-tumor activities, making it valuable for various research applications in cancer biology and therapeutic development.
