KCS Inhibitor

Perfluidone is a potent inhibitor of 3-ketoacyl-CoA synthase (KCS), targeting CER6 (KCS6) with an IC50 of 0.21 μM and FAE1 (KCS18) with an IC50 of 7.60 μM. This compound effectively inhibits the synthesis of very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs), resulting in significant phytotoxic effects, including the inhibition of Lemna paucicostata growth.
