Perhexiline

CPT1/CPT2 Inhibitor

Perhexiline is an orally active inhibitor of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1) and CPT2, which effectively reduces fatty acid metabolism. This compound induces mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis in hepatic cells, demonstrating potential anti-tumor activity. Additionally, Perhexiline's ability to cross the blood-brain barrier makes it relevant for research applications in oncology and cardiovascular diseases, such as angina.
