Phlorofucofuroeckol A functions as an FcεRI inhibitor, demonstrating low cytotoxicity on basophilic leukemia cells. This compound effectively suppresses the binding interaction between immunoglobulin E (IgE) and the FcεRI receptor, leading to a reduction in histamine release triggered by IgE/anti-IgE or calcium ionophore A23187 stimulation.
