Photosensitizer-2 is an organic D-π-A sensitizer designed to mitigate phototoxicity. Featuring an acrylic acid moiety, it exhibits significant phototoxic effects and demonstrates robust antitumor activity against HeLa cells, with observed IC50 values of 20.9 ± 4.5 μM in the dark and 0.046 ± 0.012 μM upon irradiation.
