Piperitenone oxide

Differentiation Inducer

Piperitenone oxide is a monoterpene ketone that functions as a differentiation inducer. It is derived from the essential oils of Mentha x villosa and Ziziphora clinopodioides, demonstrating significant biological activity by inducing chromosome breakage, aneuploidy, and DNA single-strand breaks. Furthermore, piperitenone oxide exhibits antihypertensive properties and has been shown to reduce endothelin-1 (ET-1) levels. This compound is relevant for research applications in colon cancer studies, offering insights into its potential roles in cellular differentiation and oncogenic processes.
