Pipernonaline

Anti-prostate cancer Agent

Pipernonaline is a piperine derivative that acts as an anti-prostate cancer agent. It effectively inhibits the proliferation of both androgen-dependent and androgen-independent LNCaP and PC-3 prostate cancer cells. The compound induces apoptosis by activating caspase-3 and promoting the cleavage of procaspase-3 and PARP. Additionally, Pipernonaline mediates the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), increases intracellular calcium levels, and causes mitochondrial membrane depolarization, highlighting its potential for cancer research applications.
