PolyQ aggregation inhibitor C2-8

Huntingtin Inhibitor

C2-8 is a potent inhibitor of polyglutamine (polyQ) aggregation, specifically targeting the pathogenic form of the huntingtin protein. It demonstrates significant inhibition with IC50 values of 25 μM for recombinant HDQ51 and 0.05 μM in PC12 cells. C2-8 has been shown to reduce polyQ aggregation in organotypic hippocampal slice cultures from R6/2 transgenic mice and mitigate neurodegeneration in a Drosophila model of Huntington's disease. In vivo studies indicate that C2-8 effectively decreases huntingtin aggregate size, alleviates neuronal atrophy, and enhances motor performance in the R6/2 transgenic mouse model.
