Prallethrin

Pyrethroid

Prallethrin is a non-fluorinated pyrethroid that primarily targets lung surfactant proteins (SPs) to exhibit its biological activity as a spatial mosquito repellent. Its mechanism involves hydrogen and hydrophobic interactions that impair the functionality of lung SPs, leading to vapor toxicity. This compound is relevant for research into respiratory illnesses, pathogenic infections, and malignancies, making it a valuable tool for investigating therapeutic interventions in these areas.
