Prazobind
α1-Adrenoceptor Antagonist
Prazobind is an irreversible antagonist of the α1-adrenoceptor, functioning by effectively competing for binding sites with high potency (IC50 of 1 nM) in tissues enriched with both alpha 1A and alpha 1B subtypes, such as the hippocampus and liver. This compound exhibits partial inhibition of contractions in circular, longitudinal, and smooth muscles, including those of the spleen. Prazobind is valuable in research applications focused on blood pressure regulation and cardiovascular studies.
