Pro-PTX

Paclitaxel Prodrug

Pro-PTX is a Pd-sensitive prodrug of Paclitaxel, designed to selectively activate in the presence of palladium catalysts. This compound exhibits significantly lower cytotoxicity, with anticancer activity 200 to 700-fold reduced compared to its parent molecule, allowing for safer application in research. Pro-PTX effectively permeates hydrogel matrices and becomes activated through intramolecular cyclization, releasing active Paclitaxel and a non-toxic byproduct. This prodrug has significant potential for studying non-small cell lung cancer, glioblastoma, and lung cancer while minimizing adverse effects on non-cancerous cells.
