Progerinin

progerin-lamin A binding inhibitor

Progerinin is a potent progerin-lamin A binding inhibitor that selectively targets the C-terminal region of progerin. By disrupting its interaction with lamin A, Progerinin promotes progerin degradation while sparing wild-type lamin proteins. This compound demonstrates significant biological activity by ameliorating nuclear deformation, enhancing H3K9me3 levels, and decreasing progerin expression in fibroblasts derived from HGPS patients. Furthermore, Progerinin has been shown to extend lifespan and improve various physiological parameters in LmnaG609G mouse models, making it a valuable tool for research into Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS).
