PXS 25

CI-M6PR Inhibitor

PXS 25 is a selective inhibitor of the cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptor (CI-M6PR), effectively blocking the receptor-mediated activation of latent TGF-β1. It disrupts the conversion of latent TGF-β1 to its active form in proximal tubule cells exposed to high glucose, thereby reducing the production of fibronectin and collagen IV, as well as phosphorylated Smad 2. PXS 25 possesses antifibrotic properties in skin fibroblasts and is valuable for investigating mechanisms underlying diabetic nephropathy.
