PZL-A
mtDNA Activator
PZL-A is an activator of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) synthesis, targeting polymerase γ (POLγ) with AC50 values of 160 nM for the A467T mutation and 20 nM for the G848S mutation. This compound enhances mtDNA synthesis within cells, promoting the biogenesis of the oxidative phosphorylation machinery and improving cellular respiration. PZL-A shows potential in the treatment of POLG-related diseases and other conditions associated with mtDNA depletion.
