QAQ

Light-Controlled Open Channel Blocker

QAQ is a light-controlled open channel blocker that selectively inhibits voltage-gated sodium (Nav) and potassium (Kv) channels in its trans form, while remaining inactive in the cis form. This compound is membrane-impermeant, allowing it to penetrate only pain-sensing neurons that express endogenous import channels. QAQ serves as a light-sensitive analgesic, making it a valuable tool for investigating signaling mechanisms in both acute and chronic pain research.
