Quinapril

ACE Inhibitor

Quinapril is a potent, orally active angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, functioning by blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II in plasma and tissues. The compound is enzymatically converted to its active diacid form, quinaprilat, which retains its pharmacological activity. Quinapril demonstrates significant efficacy in models of hypertension, making it a valuable tool for research in cardiovascular therapies and hypertension treatment strategies.
