Enteroviru Inhibitor
R-61837 is a synthetic enteroviral inhibitor with potent antiviral activity, demonstrating significant efficacy against various rhinovirus strains. It exhibits 10-fold and 57-fold increased activity against human rhinovirus type 9 (HRV-9) compared to Enviroxime and dichloroflavone (DCF), respectively, and is also 5-fold and 10-fold more active against human rhinovirus type 2 (HRV-2) than these compounds. This compound serves as a valuable tool for research focusing on antiviral drug development and the study of rhinoviral infections.
