(R)-AMPA

iGluR

(R)-AMPA is a selective modulator of ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluR), primarily acting on AMPA receptors. This compound serves to inhibit the release of excitatory amino acids from neurons, displaying inactivity in enhancing the release of [3H]D-aspartate during electrical stimulation. Additionally, (R)-AMPA’s biological activity can be effectively reversed by both competitive and noncompetitive antagonists targeting AMPA receptors, making it a valuable tool for research into neurotransmitter release and synaptic transmission.
