Drug Isomer
(rac)-ZK-304709 is a drug isomer that serves as a multi-targeted inhibitor of tumor growth, particularly in neuroendocrine tumors (NET). This compound inhibits various kinases, including cell cycle-dependent kinases (CDKs), vascular endothelial growth factor receptor kinases (VEGF-RTKs), and platelet-derived growth factor receptor kinase β (PDGF-RTKβ). It demonstrates dose-dependent inhibition of NET cell proliferation and colony formation, inducing G2 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis while downregulating MCL1, survivin, and HIF1α expression. By promoting apoptosis and impeding tumor-induced angiogenesis, (rac)-ZK-304709 shows promise as a potential therapeutic agent for NET treatment.
