MK 287 Relative Configuration

(rel)-MK 287 is a potent and selective antagonist of the platelet-activating factor receptor (PAFR). This compound demonstrates significant inhibitory activity, with K1 values of 6.1 nM for human platelets, 3.2 nM for polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN), and 5.49 nM for lung membranes. Additionally, (rel)-MK 287 effectively inhibits PAF-induced platelet aggregation and elastase release from PMNs, exhibiting ED50 values of 56 nM, 1.5 nM, and 4.4 nM, respectively. This reagent is valuable for investigating cardiovascular diseases, particularly in the context of thrombosis.
